  • In honor of Valentine’s Day, I thought I would share an excerpt from my book about the love of my life, my life-long Valentine <3   As I listened to the lapping waves, my thoughts turned to other things. Music had always been my dream, but I always thought there would be someone there to share it with. I never pictured myself living the single life, but instead, I pictured my wife with me on the tour bus. I wanted to get married and have a family someday. Throughout my life, I had prayed that God would lead me to that […]

  • Hey everyone, I have some exciting news to announce.  My wife and I are making the move to Nashville, TN.  As you may know, Nashville is referred to as “Music City” for a reason: it is home to many of today’s top musicians, songwriters, producers, and recording artists.  Since American Idol, I’ve enjoyed working with many talented people from the area, and I am looking forward to the creativity and opportunities for networking that this move will encourage. It’s with great sadness that I leave my home state of Arizona to pursue my career, however Arizona will always have a […]

  • I can’t believe 2012 is almost over.  So much has happened this year, from the release of my book By Faith, Not By Sight to concerts all over the US and Canada to special media appearances like Huckabee and the 700 Club.  I am so grateful for the love and support you all have shown me, and I know I could never do all this without you. This month, we’ve posted some great lyric videos on YouTube of my Christmas music.  It’s a great way to experience the music and share it with friends and family.  If you haven’t seen […]

  • Last weekend, I performed at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Arizona for an annual transplant reunion banquet.  Each year, patients, doctors, organ donors, and their families gather to celebrate the gift of life together.  It was a special performance for me, because a little over five years ago, I had a life-saving kidney transplant at this same hospital. But there is more to the story.  In fact, my history with Mayo Clinic goes way back to when I was just a kid.  In the multi-story atrium lobby of the hospital is a grand piano, and I used to volunteer to play […]

  • This weekend, my beautiful wife Christina and I celebrate our one year wedding anniversary.  We will be stealing away to an undisclosed location with the remains of our freezer-burnt wedding cake – well, it would have been freezer burnt, except we threw it out and got a new one 😛  At any rate, it’s time for some long overdue rest and relaxation. I can hardly believe it’s already been a year.  One of the biggest blessings for us has been all the special memories we’ve shared in random cities across the US surrounding my tour schedule.  Christina travels with me […]

  • If someone invited you to go sky-diving, would you go?  If you were offered a top corporate position in a field that was unfamiliar to you, would you accept the job?  Whether it’s a fear of heights, a fear of the dark, or a fear of public speaking, we have all experienced fear. Perhaps the biggest fear for many of us is a fear of failure. But if we never try, how will we know the outcome?  So many people worry about what will happen if they fail, that they lose sight of what could happen if they succeed. When […]

  • I receive a lot of fan mail from around the world, but the other day I received a letter that touched my heart in an especially deep way.  Here is an excerpt: Thanks so much Scott for being the biggest gift of God ever through your story of hope, faith, and love.  You are a wonder to behold.  Thanks for teaching the world what it means to hold on to the hope of God, even through the tough times in one’s life. The truth is, even in the most difficult times of my life, even when I couldn’t see my […]

  • If someone asked me what the biggest sacrifice I’ve had to make to be successful in the music industry is, I would answer with this: I have learned that my time is not my own.  Easter has been no exception.  Since American Idol, I have spent Easter on a media tour in New York City, performing in Tokyo, Japan, and getting up before sunrise to rehearse and perform for ten thousand plus people at Sunday morning services in my home town.  Today was the first time I happened to sleep in, go to church, and relax just like everyone else.  […]

If you look past the glamour and excitement of my story being wrapped up in a colorful, eye-catching, hardcover book to be sold in Walmarts and bookstores everywhere, you would find an “artistic-looking” guy with a half-shaven beard, messy hair, sitting at a small, 3-foot-wide foldable TV tray, working through edits till 4 […]
